Notes only appear publicly when contributors who have historically disagreed both rate them helpful — the bridging requirement is the mechanism’s distinguishing feature and what makes it hard to brigade. Being noted is a meaningful reputational event: brands have had promotional claims annotated, and the note travels with the post everywhere it is shared.
Safe to discuss. The practical lesson for a brand account is upstream: unverifiable claims in a post can be publicly annotated, and a note attached to your own marketing is far more damaging than the original claim was worth.
Crowd-sourced context added beneath posts on X, written and rated by contributors.
It must be rated helpful by contributors who usually disagree with each other, which is designed to prevent one-sided brigading.
The note displays with the post wherever it is seen. It cannot be removed by the author.
